Real zari, woven by hand
Silver thread, dipped in gold
Our craft
Mulberry silk from Karnataka, reeled by hand and twisted into yarn fine enough to pass through a ring.
3 kgof silk per bridal saree
Yarn is dyed in small batches, then dried in the sun. Colours are matched by eye, as they have been for generations.
21days of dyeing and drying
On a pit loom, the weaver and an assistant work in rhythm, lifting thousands of threads for every row of the pattern.
6weeks on the loom
Silver thread dipped in gold is woven in by hand, motif by motif, so the saree catches light like jewellery.

Words from our patrons
“I wore it for my wedding reception and three aunties asked where it was from. The zari is even richer in person.”
